On May 10, 2016, ePac Flexible Packaging announced the commencement of commercial operations at its plant it Middleton, Wisconsin. The company is the first flexible packaging business in North America to rely exclusively on digital printing. By using the HP Indigo 20000 press, ePac is committed to the emerging market of quick-turn, short-run, and multiple SKU flexible packaging.
Jack Knott, ePac CEO, states that Wisconsin was a natural choice for the location of the company. Thanks to its geographical position, ePac will be able to meet the demands of both smaller regionally-based consumer packaged goods companies as well as larger national brands. The digital printing platform makes it possible to expedite turnaround time while avoiding plate charges and excess inventory on short to medium-length runs.
